Iglesia de Santa Marina
  • Ecclesiastical
The church has several altarpieces of great beauty.

This church in western Asturias was built in the first half of the 18th century. The structure is surrounded by two porches, one on the south side, open and supported by columns, and the other, closed porch on the front that extends in height to constitute the main façade. This very original façade is divided horizontally into three floors and vertically into three bays.

The ground floor is open with semi-circular arches. On the first floor there is a balcony with Baroque mouldings and railings, on both sides of which are two lintelled bays. On the top floor, there are two semi-circular bays, the larger one housing a bell, with a clock in the centre between them.

The façade is topped with two domed turrets with spires and a bell gable with one opening shaped like a pediment.

The entire body of the façade is plastered, with ashlar being employed on the corners and in the bays, buttresses and cornice.
