Steep terrain, iconic peaks such as Tiatordos and Pienzu, Peloño Forest, Beleño Ecomuseum, villages like Viego and Taranes, whitewater rivers... in short, a paradise for active tourism and nature tourism. That's Ponga

Ponga, whose territory is a listed Nature Park, is a paradise for active tourism. Besides the immense range of hiking options, in such emblematic spots from the point of view of woodland heritage as the dense beech forest of Peloño, you can enjoy whitewater rafting or canyoning, the latter in Viboli and Carangas Canyons. Ponga thus provides all the different versions of water: high-mountain rivers, such as the River Ponga and the bordering River Sella, waterfalls, canyons and high-quality hot springs at Mestas Spa. Rounding off this list of options is a public pool with incredible views of Tiatordos Peak and the Ponga Range.

Its steep and abrupt terrain also offers plenty activities for cyclists to do on hybrid bikes. If what you prefer is art, heritage and ethnography, there is always the option of visiting Beleño Ecomuseum, devoted to wood and located in the borough capital of San Juan de Beleño, paying a visit to the chapels in Ventaniella and Arcenorio, the mansion in Sobrefoz, the Seigneury of Cazu and the villages of Taranes and Viego ... thus getting a complete view of what Ponga contributes to the landscape, culture and customs of Asturias.
