Info
It is situated in a unique setting in the heart of a native woodland and on the banks of the Río de La Cueva, also known as the Río Pequeño.
From here, a short walk of around 200 metres takes you to La Cascada del Chorrón, from where you can continue walking for about 2 km to the abandoned village of La Cueva and visit the natural cave at the top of the village.
A great way to explore the area is by following an easy walking route which, starting from Villamayor, takes you just over 2 km to the recreational area and La Cascada del Chorrón.

Location
From Oviedo/Uviéu via the N-634, at the entrance to Villamayor and near the church, turn right, following the sign for the recreational area. After about 600 m, the tarmac road ends; continue along a track which, after 1.5 km, will take you straight to the Chorrón recreation area. You’ll need to ford the river in your car a couple of times along the concrete-lined riverbed provided for this purpose, which is quite shallow. If the river is running a little high, or if you’d rather not fordy it, turn off before the first wooden bridge; a 400-metre walk will then take you to the recreation area.
