Esbardo

Esbardo is a nature tourism company specialising in the interpretation of Cantabrian wildlife in Asturias. Its activities centre on the brown bear as a flagship species, offering guided wildlife-watching excursions and interpretative trails in protected areas. It operates mainly in the Somiedo Natural Park and the Fuentes del Narcea, Degaña and Ibias Natural Park. The itineraries are adapted to the time of year and the behaviour of the species, prioritising distance, silence and respect for the environment.

The activities are conducted in accordance with responsible observation guidelines to minimise the impact on wildlife and the habitat. The approach includes an introduction to the habitat, landscape interpretation and basic principles of species conservation. The programme focuses on ecotourism and raising awareness of the Cantabrian natural heritage.
