Colombres - Llastres 89

Day 1: The route begins at the eastern end, at Quinta Guadalupe (Colombres), home to the Archivo de Indianos. This space shows the emigration of several generations and is surrounded by an extensive green area to enjoy the visit. On the way to the centre of the region, in Llanes, there are two other ideal options for the whole family. You can discover the inland beach of Gulpiyuri, near Naves. Gulpiyuri is a sandy area located 100 metres from the coast, with pedestrian access. Or if you prefer to combine nature and mythology, then the best choice is El Camín Encantau, in the Ardisana valley, which is connected by mythological wood carvings. The starting point of the path is at Venta del Pobre, which can be reached from Posada de Llanes on the AS-115. Those who prefer contact with nature but less physical activity can visit the Parque de la Naturaleza de La Grandera, a zoo dedicated to environmental education. The route continues along the Autovía del Cantábrico (A-8), towards Colunga. A few kilometres from Llastres, on a privileged vantage point, is a must: the Jurassic Museum. Shaped like dinosaur footprints, it shows the history of these prehistoric giants, some of which can be seen life-size.

Llastres - Oviedo/Uviedo/Uviéu 86,9

Day 2: The Cabranes Rural School Museum allows you to start the day in the classrooms and show the little ones what a classroom was like just a few decades ago. This centre is located in Viñón, a town that can be reached by the AS-255, which links Villaviciosa and L'Infiestu. In the council of Bimenes, there is another alternative with history, the Radio Museum. Located in Suares, it is made up of 340 pieces such as microphones, radios and jukeboxes, items that until not so long ago were very useful but which today look like antiques. This equipment can be accessed by the AS-251 road from Nava. The rest of the day can be organised in Oviedo/Uviéu. Families can discover the Pre-Romanesque Interpretation Centre, in El Naranco, the Archaeological Museum, in the centre, with a multitude of interactive elements, the Winter Park or the Nature Classroom of La Manjoya, which can be reached on foot, along a pedestrian path. Or you can also visit El Bosque, a natural space with 170 animals, located in Los Molinos.

Oviedo/Uviéu - Gijón/Xixón 30,1

Day 3: The third day has its epicentre in Gijón/Xixón. The Talasoponiente centre is a leisure and aquatic complex located on the Poniente beach, with a children's area and heated outdoor swimming pool. Without leaving the marine environment and very close by, you will find the Aquarium, which offers visitors a journey through the seas of the world. You can skate in Poniente or walk and cycle along the promenade of the San Lorenzo wall. This route continues towards the rural area. Two other options are the Railway Museum, in the centre, or the Atlantic Botanical Garden, which can be reached by public transport from the centre. For children under 12, the visit is free of charge.

Gijón/Xixón - Navelgas 123

Day 4: On this day we return to the rural world. From Gijón/Xixón, on the A8 to Soto del Barco, where we take the AS-16, we reach Cornellana. From the Salmón river park, in La Rodriga, there is an ideal route for the whole family, along the banks of the Narcea river. A few kilometres further along the N-634, you will come to Salas and its 16th-century crenellated tower. The journey continues in Tineo, where there are two options. Navelgas and its Gold Museum allow visitors to familiarise themselves with the extraction of the material and also with the tamping in the rivers to extract the remains. Meanwhile, in El Arenero, an intensive fishing reserve located 3 kilometres from the capital of Tineo, you can spend a day with the rod or enjoy the recreational area and take routes on foot or by bicycle.

Navelgas - Figueras 86

Day 5: The last day is reserved for a trip to the west. The town known as Villa Blanca, i.e. Ḷḷuarca, is one of the most outstanding seafaring enclaves on the Asturian coast, for its beauty: its historic quarter, its bridges, its beaches, its port with numerous taverns and restaurants serving good seafood cuisine, its cemetery with excellent views of the sea, the lighthouse, the tide table, the village of Vil.lar - birthplace of the Nobel Prize winner for Medicine Severo Ochoa -, etc. are more than an excuse for a stop in the capital of Valdés. The next stop, following the A-8, is in Cuaña, in the village of Villacondide. This small village is home to one of the best-preserved castros, an ancient settlement that was inhabited several centuries before the Roman conquest. The Eo estuary is the final destination of the trip. A multitude of water activities can be practised at its mouth. The most peaceful, ideal for the whole family, is a boat trip to the other side of the estuary.
