Info
Picturesque landscapes that attract even Nobel Prize winners.
Portizuelo is a long, narrow, stony beach. Its uniqueness lies in the rock formations that dot the coastline in pointed shapes. One of them is called Piedra El Óleo, named after the large number of painters who have immortalised it. It was the favourite walk of the Asturian Nobel Prize winner Severo Ochoa.
It can be accessed by two routes. From Villar, along a steep track you reach a nearby cetárea. From Barcia, directly to the meadow adjoining the sandy area.
