Picadillo and sabadiego festival in Noreña
Every spring, coinciding with the festival of San Marcos, patron saint of butchers, Noreña hosts the Picadillo and Sabadiego Festival.
Picadillo is one of Noreña's signature dishes. Sabadiegos are sausages made from blood, lean meat and onion. The Order of the Sabadiego is in charge of promoting this product and the fiesta. Each year a guest of theirs reads the proclamation of the festivities, which are attended by other brotherhoods of this type from all over Spain and southwest France.
This event has been declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in the Principality of Asturias.
