The Puentón or Roman Bridge is the most representative monument par excellence of Cangues d' Onís/Cangas de Onís. Its current construction dates from the late Middle Ages, but it can be said to have Roman origins, as indicated by the thick buttresses and the sharp cutwaters.
The parapet, with a cobbled path, is the viewpoint over the Sella and a risky springboard for summer bathers, as the bridge crosses a pool used by the locals to take a dip.

The Puente Viejo or Puente Romano (Old Bridge or Roman Bridge) is a graceful, graceful, rounded bridge with a large central arch, with a wide span, which almost single-handedly spans the course of the river.
It has large buttresses supported by rocky outcrops, which give it stability, and sharp cutwaters. The lateral arches are also pointed, two on each side, and it also has other small relief arches over the buttresses and cutwaters. The bridge has a stone parapet and its floor is paved with cobblestones.
