Inaugurated on 10th July 2007, on the outskirts of the meadows where the traditional pilgrimage that inspires it is held, the Museum was born from the meticulous work of recreation carried out by Manuel Fernández Álvarez, popularly known as Manolito "El Pegu".
Since 1968 and for 30 years, Manolito dedicated thousands of hours of his life to immortalise and recreate in detail the pilgrimage of "El Carbayu", a rural enclave belonging to the town of Lugones/Llugones.
This work was completed with the collaboration of Roberto Nicolás, who was responsible for the whole process of automation and lighting of the model.
Thanks to the work of both of them, icons of the pilgrimage such as the chapel, the Ferris wheel, the bar, the orchestra, the draught, the carousel or the tombola can be seen. But there are also countless details that contextualise the customs and habits of Asturias in the mid-20th century. The attractions and huts typical of that period are complemented by up to 300 figures on the stage.
The lighting and sound effects, the rhythmic movements of the automated pieces and the more than 1,500 light bulbs make it possible to enjoy the festive day at different times of the day, creating an atmosphere that will surprise the visitor.
