The new museum space allows you to dive to the seabed and discover the life and habitat of the largest cephalopods in the world, as well as that of their prey and predators, with which they coexist in the depths of the Cantabrian Sea.
The Kraken's fascinating and little-known ecosystem will not leave you indifferent. You will discover up to 10 specimens of these mythological beings, which will be accompanied by dozens of cephalopods and bone samples of different cetaceans that abound in these latitudes.
Although cephalopods are the stars of the museum par excellence, in this installation you will also be able to see other curious marine species that have been recovered.
This museum space will recreate a mysterious atmosphere, using only the light that is strictly necessary, and an ambient sound reminiscent of water fluids and the movements of giant squid, which awaken a passion for discovery, in clear homage to the Nobel Prize winner from Luarca, Severo Ochoa.
The aim is to simulate a dive into the depths of the Avilés trench through a sensory experience to discover the habitat, legends and characteristics of a mysterious species, as yet unknown. It will also have different interactive milestones.
The museum route will be circular and prepared for a mostly family-oriented target audience.
