The building retains the typical features of the region’s traditional vernacular architecture and maintains its original L-shaped layout over two storeys. Inside, a distinction was made between the rooms used for living – such as *La L.lariega* – and those associated with cattle.
The entire complex is organised around a central cobbled courtyard, where there is a hórreo with a slate roof — originally thatched — and a chapel dedicated to the Virgin of Carmen. The chapel houses a polychrome Baroque altarpiece dating from the first half of the 18th century.
Among the cultural initiatives held at this venue is the temporary exhibition SEPTIMIVS NERVA, organised by Degaña Town Council in collaboration with the ANTIQVI MORES Historical and Cultural Association. Further exhibitions are also planned in collaboration with the council’s cultural associations.
