The feast day of San Roque is celebrated on 16th August.

The 14th-century chapel is what is left of the pilgrim hospital linked to the Way of St James, which was ordered built by Juan Pérez de Cue in the High Middle Ages, and is one of the oldest buildings in the town of Llanes.

The small chapel, located in the square of the same name, is also a place of reference and inspiration for the festivities and the guild of San Roque. It is one of the identifying symbols of Llanes, whose main feast day is celebrated on 16th August. Together with La Magdalena and La Guía, it is one of the religious guilds of Llanes.
