Boxo Cork oak grove
- Title Allande Western Asturias
The Alcornocal de Boxo is a large cork oak forest, declared a Natural Monument.
Info
This cork oak grove is the best "sufreiros" forest in Asturias, in a state of recovery. It has several young specimens that invade the adjoining scrubland. The cork oak grove is divided into two main nuclei and some small groups of more or less isolated trees.
The most outstanding area, both in terms of extension and the magnificent specimens it contains, is located between the village and the access road to it. The other area, to the west of Boxo, forms a narrow, elongated line.
