The most westerly coastal wonder of Asturias
Just before crossing the Puente de los Santos bridge over the river Eo, which joins the Principality with Galicia, on the right, there is a turn-off that takes us to the beach of Arnao, the most westerly beach in Asturias. With fine white sand and calm, crystal-clear waters, Arnao offers a beautiful view of the Galician and Asturian coasts.
It has good facilities, easy access and lifeguards in the summer months. At high tide, its sandy area is much reduced.
Access is via a small path on the hillside and concrete stairs.
Located in the town of Figueras, it forms part of the Río Eo, Oscos and Terras de Burón Biosphere Reserve.
Ordinance for pets on the beach:
- The access and presence of pets on the beach is prohibited from 31/05 to 13/09.
- Pets will be allowed on the promenades and urban promenades, in the areas near the accesses to the beaches, provided that they are kept on a fixed leash of no more than one metre in length and, when necessary due to the characteristics of the animal, they must be muzzled.
