From the green valleys to the mountains of the Cordillera, the GR109 crosses a great diversity of landscapes. Lush forests, crystal-clear rivers, mountain brañas and charming villages are just some of the treasures you will find along the way.

Culturally, the GR109 is a journey through time. Along the way, you can discover traditional Asturian architecture, visit small villages with centuries of history and enjoy the local gastronomy. The hórreos (raised granaries), the bread baskets and the Romanesque churches are some of the elements that will take you back in time.

The GR109 is much more than just a hiking route. It is an opportunity to connect with nature, discover Asturian culture and enjoy a unique experience. If you are looking for an adventure in contact with nature, the GR109 is your destination.

Do you dare to do it? Plan the 27 stages well or divide them into several trips and don't hesitate. With each step you will see how the landscape changes, how you pass from the pass to the bottom of the valley, how you walk along one of the countless watercourses, and how the tranquillity that you breathe in the interior of the forest ends up conquering an unparalleled natural atmosphere. Despite its long route, you'll want it to go on forever... because you're in Asturias!
