Info
Santo Adriano is the gateway to the Trubia Valleys and theSenda del Oso, one of the most unique greenways in Spain, built on the track of an old mining railway. In Tuñón, right where the recreational area begins, this path starts, where after a few kilometres you can see the enclosure of the bears Paca and Molina.
Also in this area is the pre-Romanesque temple of Santo Adriano de Tuñón, founded by the Asturian monarch Alfonso III the Great. Likewise, in the capital of the council, Villanueva, there is an interesting medieval bridge. Villanueva is also the starting point of a well-known hiking route, the Ruta de Las Xanas, one of the many that can be done in a municipality where nature is the main attraction.
The Buyera recreational area, the Xanas route, the Tuñón Shelter or the Cueva del Conde cave are therefore obligatory visits to enjoy nature in its purest state, the same nature that makes Santo Adriano a true mountain biking paradise.
Population: 248 inhabitants
