The Natural Network of Asturias, in its aim to disseminate the protected areas, as well as the care of the natural environment and environmental education, has an extensive programme of activities throughout the year 2024, aimed at both children and adults. A very interesting way of entertaining, learning and raising awareness for the general public. Let's take a look at this varied programme.
Children's workshops
Workshops are held for children related to recycling, reuse and waste reduction, nature interpretation, etc.
They take place one Saturday every month from February to April and from October to December, in the following Interpretation Centres simultaneously:
- Muniellos Interpretation Centre
- Interpretation Centre of the Natural Park of Somiedo
- Interpretation Centre of the Natural Park of Redes
- Water House
- Interpretation Centre of the Ponga Nature Reserve
- Villaviciosa Partial Nature Reserve Interpretation Centre
RENA 2024 Children's Workshops Programme
The timetable is from 16:00 to 18:00 h, and the activities are recommended for an audience of 6-11 years old.
Ornithological routes
Every Saturday during the months that the Villaviciosa Estuary Interpretation Centreis open, there are guided ornithological visits, where you can observe the aquatic and migratory birds that inhabit the estuary, depending on the time of year. The timetable is from 10:30 to 12:00 h.

- Misiego-Rodiles Route
- El Puntal Route
- Cierrón Route
Interpretative itinerary to the San Luis viewpoint
From the Interpretation Centre of the Natural Reserve of Muniellos a guided tour is offered every Saturday afternoon, with prior reservation, at 16:30, where participants are taken to one of the best panoramic views of the Muniellos Forest.

World Days
Every World Day included in the RENA calendar, activities related to the theme of the day are organised for both adults and children in one of our interpretation centres.
RENA Calendar 2024
- Sábado 29 de junio
Día Mundial del Árbol. Se realizarán dos actividades, en horario de 11:30 a 14:00 h:
- Ruta guiada por las cercanías del Centro de Interpretación de la Reserva Natural Integral de Muniellos en Obacho, dirigida al público adulto. Plantación de especies autóctonas en las inmediaciones del centro, en conmemoración del día mundial, donde podrán participar hasta los más pequeños.
- Talleres ambientales para los más pequeños, con una pequeña visita guiada al área expositiva del centro, pequeño recorrido al mirador del Pico Luis y dos manualidades.
• Todos los sábados del mes
- Itinerario ornitológico por la Ría de Villaviciosa, de 10:30 a 13:30 h, incluyendo recogida de basuraleza. Incluye todo el material necesario, prismáticos, miniguías de aves…
- Ruta guiada por los miradores de Obacho, todos los sábados a las 16:30h bajo reserva previa.
