It has a quality urban space, articulated by a wide promenade where the river, the estuary and the sea accompany the tour of other landmarks of the town: the Mirador de Guía, the Paseo de la Grúa and the Historical Route of the Port, the Paseo Princesa Letizia, and the Paseo de los Vencedores del Sella, the Santa Marina Beach with its spectacular buildings of Indianos built in the early twentieth century or the Dinosaur Route in Punta' l Pozu. But the jewel in the crown is the Tito Bustillo Cave, declared a World Heritage Site.
In 1968 a group of speleologists went into the cave and found in one of the galleries an extraordinary collection of paintings and engravings on the walls. Since then, studies have been carried out inside the cave and today it can be said that there are at least 12 important sets of cave art throughout the cave with a great variety of paintings and engravings that make the Tito Bustillo Cave considered one of the most important sets of Palaeolithic Art in the world.
Ribadesella also has a rural area that offers interesting visits: popular architecture and manor houses owned by old families coexist with a rural landscape dotted with small coves of extraordinary beauty, caves with spectacular geological formations, such as the Cuevona de Cueves that gives access to the village of the same name, or dramatic cliffs, with their surprising "bufones".
Throughout the year, different cultural, festive and sporting events take place in this fishing village, making it unique: horse races on Santa Marina beach, chamber music concerts in a spectacular cave with unequalled acoustics: the Cuevona de Ardines, the Jazz Festival, the International Descent of the Sella, the only festival declared to be of International Tourist Interest in Asturias, the festivities with sea processions in summer...
